Morello v5.6 Pioneering Page Studio – the next phase of Web Content Management

Mediasurface, Europe's fastest growing Web Content Management (WCM) solution provider, is delighted to announce the release of Page Studio, part of Morello version 5.6. Page Studio moves WCM into the next phase, allowing organisations to manage more than just the content, structure, look and feel of their sites. Page Studio enables non technical employees to determine the actual layout of each individual page or set of pages within constraints laid down by corporate branding guidelines.

Mediasurface has a track record of providing ground breaking new features to the WCM market. Being one of the first vendors to recognise the need for real business user driven software, it has very successfully expanded its client base in existing and new geographies due to Morello's unparalleled usability. Next, Mediasurface was the first WCM vendor that supplied a full AJAX driven web based authoring tool, followed by its Instant Site feature that allows the creation of new sites with only 10 clicks of a mouse.

Now Mediasurface launches Page Studio. Ian Truscott, Morello CTO at Mediasurface comments:

"This is an exciting step on our journey of empowering the business user to manage and deliver online communications, while freeing up the technical guys to focus on core business innovation. The business user wants to be able to determine the layout of individual pages, making it relevant to their message, without having to burden IT. Meanwhile the technical team wants a platform for quickly injecting new features and functionality into these web applications. This is exactly what Morello Page Studio delivers."

Page Studio allows users, within constraints defined by their branding guidelines, to drop individual pieces of content onto a webpage. They can decide exactly where to place them and how large they should be. These could be texts fields, images, or even so called components which are advanced blocks of functionality such as a search box or a top five list of news items. All of this happens in a WYSIWYG way, meaning they can see exactly what it will look like on the final website. Subsequently the created layout can be applied to single pages or to multiple pages.

Due to the technology used, it can be applied to both existing sites as well as new sites. Mediasurface has already received extremely positive feedback from its customers, who are keen on upgrading their websites with this new feature.

Andy Peart, CMO at Mediasurface added:

"In order to differentiate ourselves in this fast changing market, we need to keep innovating. Page Studio is the result of our never ending attempt to deliver the best-in-class WCM system in the marketplace and exceed customers' expectations. By delivering easy to use tools that enable the business user to do more and devolving managing online channels to the people that care and know about the content, we have found that productivity, adoption and accuracy all increase."
