Build
This second Phase takes the Detailed Design and turns it into a realistic, working solution for you.
During this stage, we'll work with you to create "solution areas" - some of these may uncover additional requirements or functionality that differ from the original Definiton Phase. If this is the case, we'll clearly identify and document each Change Request, so you can assess the impact on both time and cost before making a final decision.
Alongside this, the Technical Architect allocated to your project will be working with relevant customer groups and suppliers to make sure the required hardware, software and infrastructure is in place to ensure that deployment can progress without delay.
The key objectives in this Phase are:
- Develop the actual repository and begin populating with content
- Establish and build the publishing workflow
- Integrate with other systems
- Deploy against the overall technical architecture
During the Build Phase, the key deliverables are:
- Application Configuration and Code
- Initial Content Acquisition
- Technical Integration
- Performance Tuning
- Test Plan Development
Timescale: Typically 4 - 6 weeks
At this stage, your project team will usually include:
- Project Manager
- Solution Architect
- Technical Architect
- Programmers
Next Phase: Transition
